Caring for Hardwood Floors
Caring for and maintaining your hardwood floor has never been easier with the advancements made in floor stains and finishes. In fact, regular maintainence coulnd't be easier!

Weekly Mainenance:

Sweep your floor using a soft bristle brrom, floor duster or a vacuume cleaner with a bare floor attachment to remove dust and debris.

Maintain the beauty of your wood floor with these tips:
  • Use area rugs inside doorways and doormats outside doorways to minimize dirt and grit from being tracked into your home and possibly scratching your floors

  • If you have hardwood floors in your kitchen place a rug in front of the sink

  • Immediately remove liquid spills using a soft, slightly dampened cloth

  • Do not use vinyl or tile products on your wood floor.  Acrylic cleaners and waxes make wood floors extremely slippery and will dull the finish quickly

  • Do not wet mop your wood floor.  Standing water can damage wood floors, dull the finish and leave a residue that will discolor the finish
  • Place felt pads under the legs of your furniture to prevent scartching your wood floor

  • When moving furniture pick the furniture up and place it down rather than sliding it across the floor
  • Avoid walking on your hardwood floors with high heels, cleats or sport shoes
